Wests are a finalist in this year’s Community Building Partnership grants!
Your grant application has been deemed eligible and is through to the next round of the assessment process. Congratulations! I appreciate the amount of work that goes into writing grants for your organisations and thank you for your time and effort.
I know local organisations are doing it tough during Covid-19 and am so appreciative of all you are doing to support your clients, community and staff.
The CBP program this year is extremely competitive, with over 46 eligible applications seeking over $1.3 million in funding. I am calling on the Treasurer to double the funding for the CBP program this year as part of its economic stimulus package. Doing so would help local community groups to help the most vulnerable and also create much-needed local jobs.
The next stage of the process involves two parts:
- The Department of Premier and Cabinet convenes an independent panel to assess the applications.
- As your local Member, I also offer recommendations for funding. Each MP approaches this differently and as part of my assessment process, I think it’s important to hear the community’s views. Accordingly, I am sending a survey to every household in the Summer Hill electorate asking for feedback on which projects the community would like to see funded. You are also very welcome to distribute this survey to your community members to complete. I have attached a copy of the survey here. Please note that completed surveys can be returned by reply paid mail. This year, I am also accepting survey responses online from 7am tomorrow (14 August) and closing on Friday 11 September: johaylen.com/cbp2020
Best of luck and congratulations again!

Labor Member for Summer Hill
